William Stevenson, in the period covered by these papers, pursued two careers: that of journalist and that of author. As the first he would work for several companies at once. As a foreign correspondent employed by Near and Far East News (Asia) Ltd., for example, he also submitted reports to the Canadian Broadcasting Company (C.B.C.) and the Toronto Telegram.
